You can get Ccleaner at this website. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Additionally Ccleaner has a registry cleaner built in, but I do not reccomend using it as it could mess up your operating system and I believe that cleaning your registry is useless anyway and should be kept alone.
Now for the how-to!
After you've installed the software I'm going to explain how to use it properly. When open you should see something like this:
By default these should be checked and left alone unless you know what you don't want deleted. Everything left at default will not harm your computer nor will it delete any of your internet browsers favorites.
Now click the tab, "applications." It will be next to the "Windows" tab.
It will look a little different then mine depending on what browser you are using. As for me I'm using google chrome. You should leave everything there alone by default.
Basically Ccleaner is best left alone to its defaults. Now you have two options when you use the cleaner. You could click on "Analyze" and it will only show you what will be deleted as if you were to press "Run Cleaner." Here is an example of what it would look like if analyze was pressed.
And what it would look like if "Run Cleaner" was pressed.
Not much of a difference other then the files have been removed.
Another tool implemented into Ccleaner is an option to uninstall un-needed software you have installed on your computer. It works the same way as "add and remove programs" already on your computer only much simpler and easier to use.
To go there you need to click
then make sure
is highlighted you should see something like this.
Go through the list and choose what programs you no longer need or want. I recomend you only uninstall software that you know. If something looks unfamiliar to you do not uninstall it. If you have any questions as to what the software is you can post it on our forum and we'll try to help you as much as possible. Now when you have chosen what software you want uninstalled make sure it's highlighted by clicking it and then pressing "Run Uninstaller."
You should get something like this when "Run Uninstaller" is clicked
Proceed to pressing yes and if additional windows pop up your most likely to press "next."
That's it for this guide! I hope you enjoyed reading it more then I enjoyed writing it!
Stay tuned for more guides in the future!
